August Calender of Events
Hi everyone! I have been lax about getting out a list of what is going on at Our Lady Star of the Sea in a timely fashion as of late. So, this month no excuses, only results as my father would say.
I do not plan on sending out reminders or invites. I no longer have the amount of internet time that I used to have therefor this may well be your only notice.
Sunday August 2nd NO SERVICE at OLSS please visit Hagia Sophia that day.
Tuesday 8-4 @7Pm Sophia Service.
We have not had one of these in a couple of months that I can recall, so this one will be outside in the Meditation Garden. ie don't dress up, there is dirt.
Sunday August 9th Sunday after Transfiguration

Sunday August 16th Assumption Sunday
Holy Gnostic Eucharist at 11 am
Sunday August 23rd NO SERVICE at OLSS please visit Hagia Sophia that day.

Services for Holy Week 2009
Please join us at Our Lady Star of the Sea for our Holy Week services.
On Maundy Thursday at 7PM: Consecration of Holy Oils, Foot Washing Ceremony, The Mystery of the Eucharist
Good Friday at 7PM: Procession with the Cross, the Mystic Dance, Communion.
Holy Saturday Vigil at 7Pm: The Blessing of the New Fire, Lighting of the Pascal Candle, Baptism,
Easter Sunday 11 am. The Celebration of the Inner Resurrection.

Lenten Schedule 2009
Greetings in Gnosis Brothers and Sisters,
I'd like to go ahead and post our schedule of events for Our Lady Star of the Sea parish for Lent of 2009. This will enable everyone to stay more informed of when our services are and just what to expect.
Ash Wed. Fed 25th. No service as I have promised to visit another parish that day.
Sunday March 1st: The First Sunday in Lent, intent: Self Examination. w will also bless and distribute ashes to all who were unable to attend other churches on Ash Wed. Mass at 11:00 AM.
Sunday March 8th: The Second Sunday in Lent, Intent: Yearning for God
Monday March 9th Sophia Service 7:00 PM. Please join us for the ordination to the Order of Lay Server 'Sunnie' who was recently confirmed a member of the Gnostic Church.
Sunday March 15th. The Third Sunday in Lent. Mass is at 11:00 AM. The intent is 'Understanding' This is also the Eve of Montsegur Day and all local monks and nuns of the Order of St. Esclarmonde are encouraged to come to the chapel to renew their vows.
Sunday March 22nd. The Fourth Sunday in Lent. Mass is at 11:00 AM. The intent of the day is Spiritual Refreshment.
Sunday March 29th. The Fifth Sunday in Lent. Passion Sunday. Mass is at 11:00 AM. the intent of the day is The Mystery of the Cross.
Sunday April 5th. Palm Sunday. The Blessing of the Palms. The Intent is The Temporary Triumph of the Light before its Obscuration. There is no mass at Our Lady Star of the Sea this day. All are welcome to join us for a road trip to Queen of Heaven Gnostic Church in Portland Oregon. We have been making this trip on Palm Sunday several years in a row now and find it to be a great time for fellowship with other Gnostics and an opportunity for those seeking to join Holy Orders as well as those new to Holy Orders to watch another ritual team and learn from them. If you are interested in joining us please contact Rev Mother Marsha or go to the Queen of Heaven Gnostic Church website for directions.
